Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be suffered by anyone who has either witnessed or experienced a life threatening, or a sexually abusive event.
Surviving a car accident, suffering childhood sexual abuse, being raped, being held at gunpoint, witnessing a shooting – these can all lead to PTSD.
It can be difficult to take your mask off and let people see how you really feel.
I can help you heal by providing you with a warm, safe, empathic, non-judgemental and compassionate space to help you to deal with the after effects of your trauma so that you can move on with your life. We can work on reducing distress you may have from memories, nightmares and flashbacks, and reduce distress caused by situations that resemble the trauma or remind you of the trauma. We can work on any negative changes to your thoughts, emotions and beliefs. Together we can tackle any other symptoms you may have such as hypervigilence, feeling irritable and angry, self-destructive behaviour, difficulty concentrating and sleep problems.
We can work together towards your goals at your pace, so that you can move on with your life in the way that you want to.
